In our house we like our Coke and Diet Coke and had been buying it in 12 packs of cans. This meant that we paid for the price of the pop, plus a 10 cent deposit on each can, plus an environmental levy of 10 cents on each can.

However, we discovered that if we bought our pop in 2L bottles, there was only one deposit and one levy on the bottle.

Even though we need to 2 bottles to make up the volume of the 12 cans this saves us $2.00 each time we buy pop.
