Frugal Friday
You don't have to go to a huge discount chain store to get a discount on bulk purchases. Many groceries stores will give you a case lot discount of 10%. Usually this means buying 6-12 items, depending on the case size for each item.

This discount is rarely advertised but if you speak with the manager of your local store they can let you know their policy on bulk discounts.

Go check out Crystal's blog at Biblical Womanhood for more Frugal Friday tips!

You know, I never thought about trying that. We use a lot of canned tomatoes (sauce every sunday) and I wonder if it would help to buy a case? Next time...I should ask! Smart idea!

Not only if you are buying the whole case. My mom would ask all the time if she bought a larger amount of something if they would give her a discount.
i remember having to buy about a dozen packages of salad dressing mix and he gave me a nice discount on them.

Hello,

I used to work at a small grocery store for 8 years and we were always happy to give discounts on a case. Also, we knew about 2 weeks ahead of time if we were going to be running a big sale on something and would usually mention it to our regular customers if it came up in conversation.
